Massage Types From Body Benefits Massage
How often should you get a massage?
This depends on a lot of variables. Your stress level, your activity level, your general health, and your approach to life.
People have been known to go all of their lives without ever experiencing the benefits of massage. Yet, Bob Hope and George Burns were wise enough to seek the benefits of massage every other day. This may have helped them live into their extended years.
For most people, massage should be looked at as part of your personal needs, which can vary just like our diet or sleep needs do. If you make the goal to get at least one therapeutic massage every month, you will undoubtedly see the benefits.
The primary types of body work that we currently offer through our therapists and trainings include:-
Swedish Massage
Swedish Involves revitalizing and energizing the body through the application of lotion and the use, gentle, smooth strokes to improve circulation and relieve body tension.
Sports Massage
Sports Massage includes addressing joint mobility, stretching and range of motion.
Myofacial Treatment
No lotion is applied to the skin, rather the massage itself separates fascia from skin and muscles. Very therapeutic and successful though some people consider it painful.
Reflexology
Reflexology follows theory map that reflex points on the foot, hand and ear correspond to areas of the body and/or organs.
Trigger Point / Deep Tissue
Using contact with pressure points, this method of working with the body can help the practitioner contact areas of tension, chronically troubled areas, toxins, and trauma from connective tissue.
Shiatsu and Reiki
Shiatsu literally means "finger pressure" - to help move the stagnant energy or,"chi", out of the body. I use shiatsu (Eastern Energy-Treating meridians and organs) to correct that imbalance.
Deep Tissue
Full Body Deep Tissue Treatment for the full hour rather than on just shoulders and parts of back as offered above.
Mini Facial / Swedish Massage
This treatment is provided by a licensed estitician and massage therapist.
Neuromuscular
Neuromuscular Massage utilizes advanced concepts in treating muscle from origin to insertion. For chronically tight and painful problem areas. Available on a limited basis only.
